The tricolored heron, also known as the Louisiana heron, is a beautiful bird with blue-green feathers and a white stripe on its underside. Luckily, it's plumage was never seen as fashionable, and its numbers have never been threatened. This one was fishing for minnows and small fish. When it senses danger, the tricolored heron will stand erect and point its bill up toward the sky in an attempt to blend in with its surroundings.
